3D printers are a mechatronic device, often being an example of a 2-axis cartesian robot (like a plotter, gantry or motion table),
and they are useful for rapidly producing robot parts like sensor brackets and grippers.

This is a nice idea and they’ve made the hardware design easier by simply using 3 off-the-shelf industrial linear actuators.
The rest of the development is in the “heads” and the software.
